How to make this happen:
If you’re a student and are like “I want y’all to come to my school but I don’t know how to make this happen!” Here’s how! Oftentimes, organizations, student centers, administrators, and college department chairs, have funding allocated to them with the purpose of enhancing your learning experience beyond the classroom. This means that the funding is often meant to bring outside perspectives to your school. All it really takes is you reaching out to these student centers, departments, or administrators to learn how to use that funding to bring us to your school.
Sometimes funding is automatically given to certain orgs that center marginalized communities! In this case, simply coordinating and voting with your org is all it takes! If you’re already part of an org that receives funding but it isn’t enough to cover the event fees, joining forces with other orgs or centers is a good way to build relationships with other groups and and to helps secure the necessary funds to make this happen!
